EPA Changing the Rules

The EPA are proposing to relax some of the
regulations that will favour large
developments by exempting large-scale
apartment constructions from the current 9.00
am Saturday morning start time. This change
would permit work to begin as early as 7.00 am.
Allow water pumps to be audible up from 8.00
pm to 10.00 pm.; to mention a couple of them.

The document mentions it has consulted
extensively with residents, local government,
police and the residential construction
industry.
Not so, we the Southbank Residents Group have
had no contact on this issue.

This continued dilution of the rights of
residents. The reluctance of our elected
representatives and the bureaucrats they
empower to look after our interests is
incomprehensable.

Big business is well able to look after
themselves charged with the role to make the
maximum amount of money for their shareholders.
We the residents who have to live with their
actions rely on our governments, at all
levels, to protect our interests and it would
seem they are failing to do this.
